DONOR ADVISED FUND

Donor Advised Funds are personal endowments that are established to support a stated charitable or developmental purpose. This fund is a very efficient tool for anyone looking to create a legacy of charitable giving that can last for many generations.

MICHAEL MONDESIR SAMARIAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Saint Mary’s College Class of 1992 established a new Donor Advised Fund in honour of the deceased principal Michael Mondesir called the Samarian Scholarship Fund. The purpose of the fund is to assist talented and promising students who are unable to maximize their potential because of financial challenges. The beneficiaries of this fund are students who have excelled at the Common Entrance Exam, are financially needy and are actively involved in a community group.

BRIAN BERNARD MEMORIAL

According to Linda and Dan Popov, founders of the Virtues Project, virtues are universal and are recognized by all cultures as basic qualities necessary for our well-being and happiness.

Based on this, the Brian Bernard memorial fund was established on August 12,2005, the anniversary of his birth, in an effort to focus on enforcing and enhancing ethical behavior and human Christian value and to strengthen ethics within communities by inspiring individuals as an institution to act ethically towards one another.

The Fund which is being administered by the National Community Foundation focuses on enforcing and/or enhancing ethical behaviour and human and Christian values.

The Fund will fulfil its mission through Education, Advocacy and Research.

The Fund will:

  • Organise an annual Brian Bernard Memorial Lecture.
  • Support character education.

Interested persons wishing to establish their own Donor Advised Funds or contribute to an existing Fund can contact the Foundation for further information. Remember all contributions to the NCF are 100 % tax deductible.
